Many classrooms are equipped with projection screens and distance learning capabilities. KBOCC supports H.323 (IP) conferencing, and web-based video conferencing. Endpoints are located in two classrooms at the Baraga campus building, one classroom at the L’Anse campus, a conference room at the Baraga hotel/casino, and a conference room in the Marquette casino. Our Lifesize High-Definition videoconferencing system, lifesize.com, provides clear video quality and multimedia sharing between endpoints.
One KBOCC classroom is equipped with a touch controlled SmartBoard as well as SmartSlates and SmartResponse. One classroom at each campus is designed as an official distance learning classroom.
The computer lab at the Wabanung Campus is equipped with 30 PC computers utilizing MS Office, open source programs, and other course appropriate software. Seven of the computers contain ArcGIS licensed software. The iMac lab at the Wabanung Campus is equipped with 12 iMacs utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud. The computer lab at the Baraga Campus is equipped with 12 PC computers utilizing MS Office, open source programs, and other course appropriate software. All lab computers are available for student use during posted lab hours. A user ID and password is required for access to the computers. Printers are available for student use. Students are expected to abide by the computer use policy located in the Student Handbook.
