KBOCC, NMU Sign Articulation Agreement for Business Degree ProgramsKeweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College (KBOCC) and Northern Michigan University (NMU) have expanded their partnership with a new articulation agreement in the academic field of business, creating another pathway for KBOCC students to continue their education at NMU.“This pathway provides a great opportunity for KBOCC students to further their education after completing an Associate of Science in Business Administration,” said Rhonda Nachtigall, KBOCC Business Administration Faculty Chair. “Students can now seamlessly transfer to NMU and pursue a Bachelor of Science in Management. This opportunity demonstrates KBOCC’s commitment to helping students achieve their educational goals in a timely, cost-effective manner.”In addition to business, KBOCC and NMU have transfer agreements in the following areas of study: early childhood education, environmental science, general studies, and psychology.Megan Haataja, KBOCC Dean of Academic Affairs, emphasized that KBOCC’s partnership with NMU offers clear pathways to four-year degrees, providing a smooth transition that minimizes loss of credits and duplication of coursework. “We are excited to help our students build on the foundation they have gained at KBOCC and take the next step toward their career goals,” she said.The articulation agreement takes effect immediately. Students who choose the business pathway will complete the first and second years of coursework at KBOCC and the third and fourth years at NMU, designated as 2+2 programs (denoting two years at each institution). Graduates of the Associate of Science in Business Administration Degree Program earn 68–72 credits, all of which are transferable to NMU.KBOCC now has seven established articulation agreements with the following educational institutions:Northern Michigan University
